Recipe: Cherry-Banana Smoothie

This smoothie recipe is DELICIOUS and it makes a great pre- or post-workout snack. 🍒

Plus, it’s a great way to sneak some more nutrients into your picky eaters!

Makes 1 serving.

 

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (120 ml) of your favorite milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • Handful of baby spinach

  • ½ cup (70 g) frozen pitted cherries

  • 1 medium banana

  • ½ cup (115 g) plain Greek yogurt

 

Directions:

  1. Place the first three ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and continue to blend until well combined. If it’s too thick, add a little more milk. Serve immediately.

Recipe: Cherry-Kombucha Mocktail

Here’s a bonus mocktail recipe that not only looks and tastes festive … but it’s also packed with antioxidants and gut-friendly probiotics. 

 

If you can’t find ginger kombucha, try a berry- or cherry-flavored variety. 

 

You can also use fresh or frozen cherries – just be sure to pit them first.

Makes 2 servings.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1” (2.5 cm) slice of fresh ginger, thinly sliced

  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) 100% tart cherry juice (no sugar added)

  • Juice of 1 small lime

  • 1 x 12-oz (355 ml) bottle of ginger, berry, or cherry kombucha

  • For garnish: pitted cherries and/or ginger slices 

 

Directions:

  1. In a mason jar or shaker, muddle the ginger and rosemary. Slowly stir in the cherry juice, lime juice, and kombucha.

  2. Pour into ice-filled glasses, straining if necessary, and add optional garnish.

  3. And enjoy!

Recipe: Overnight Cherry Coconut Chia Pudding

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tbsp of chia seeds

  • 1 cup coconut milk (you can also use almond or other nut milk if yo u’d like)

  • 1 cup chopped cherries (frozen or fresh, your choice!)

  • 1 Tbsp of honey (to taste)

  • Dash of vanilla

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a glass container and stir well. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator overnight.

  2. When it’s time to eat, place serving in a bowl and garnish with an optional tsp of almond slivers.
